قع هذا الكتاب في بابين , يتحدث الباب الأول عن الأدارة والسلامة في العمل المخبري ويتضمن فصولا اربعة , الفصل الأول ويتحدث عن إدارة المختبر بالشكل الذي يخدم العملية التربوية ويجعل المختبر المدرسي مرفقا مهما من مرافق المدرسة التي لا غنى عنها . كما تناول الفصل الثاني الخدمات الأساسية في المختبرات المدرسية ومخاطرها وكيفية العناية بها أما الفصل الثالث فتناول موضوع السلامة العامة والحوادث التي قد تقع في المختبرات التعليمية وأخيرا جاء الفصل الرابع مختصا بأنواع الصيانة والأعطال التي قد تصيب الأجهزة المخبرية . وقد خصص الباب الثاني من هذا الكتاب للحديث عن مختبر الأحياء حيث يقع في أربعة فصول , تناول الأول منها أرشادات السلامة في مختبر الأحياء , أما الفصل الثاني فتناول تجهيزات مختبر الأحياء للمرحلتين الأساسية والثانوية مدعمة بالصور ,فضلا عن كيفية تصنيعها وحفظها . أما الفصل الثالث فتناول بعض الأجهزة التي تستخدم بكثرة في المختبر وأخيرا جاء الفصل الرابع من هذا الباب عن أهم المهارات الضرورية التي على فني المختبر أن يتقنها في مختبر الأحياء.
