لقد تناولت في هذا الكتاب من سلسلة المختبرات العلمية، مختبر الكيمياء، يقع هذا الكتاب في أربعة فصول إضافة إلى إراشادات السلامة العامة الواجب إتباعها عند العمل في هذا المختبر، حيث تحدثت في الفصل الأول عن تجهيزات مختبر الكيمياء وأموراً عدة تهم فني المختبر، منها: الإشارات التحذيرية التي توضع على عبوات المواد الكيميائية ومدلولاتها، فضلاً عن المواد الكيميائية المستخدمة في المختبرات التعليمية من حيث مواصفاتها، والإشارات التحذيرية الخاصة بكل مادة، وكيفية حفظها وتصنيفها، وإحتياطات السلامة في تخزينها، وتعريف بالعديد من المواد الكيميائية ومركباتها، ليتمكن فني المختبر من التعرف على المواد الكيميائية عند شرائها.
أما الفصل الثاني من هذا الكتاب فقد خصصته للحديث عن بعض الأجهزة المستخدمة في مختبر الكيمياء، من حيث استخداماتها وحفظها وصيانتها عند الحاجة، وتناولت في الفصل الثالث أهم المهارات الأساسية الضرورية لفني المختبر في مختبر الكيمياء، ومن أهمها: كيفية تعرف المواد الكيميائية فضلاً عن تصريف الفضلات الكيميائية، وكيفية تنظيف الأدوات الزجاجية، وتشكيل الزجاج، لما لهذه المهارة من إستخدامات عدة في العمل المخبري، وكيفية التخلص من بقع المواد التي قد تنسكب على الملابس.
