إلى القَـــــاريء هذا القنديل ، مافكرت في يوم من الأيام ، أن يخرج من غرفتي إلى غرف الآخرين . . إنه قنديلي الخاص الذي أردت دائماً أن يكون لي وحدي ، بزجاجته الصفراء ، وشعلته النحيلة ، وعينه الخضراء .. ولكن أصدقائي الطيبين ، الذين أخذوا قلبي وضوء عيني ، لم يقبلوا أن يتركوا لي حتى هذا القنديل الصغير الذي كان صديق وحشتي وسريري . أخذوه وتركوا لي مكانه ورقة صغيرة تقول : (( نثرك مثل شعرك لابد من مصادرته . . )) الورقة أرضت غروري . لكنها لم ترض ضميري . ذلك أن قضية المستوى الفني تظل عقدتي المزمنة التي لا أشفى منها و لا أريد أن أشفى منها . إنها الصداع الذي يفترسني دائما قبل أن أجتاز باب المطبعة . وبعد ، فهذا هو القنديل الذي صودر من حنجرتي ، أقدمه للقراء كما هو . . بزجاجته الصفراء ، وشعلته النحيلة ، وعينه الخضراء . . أقدمه لهم ، ويدي على قلبي . . مدريد 1\1\1963 نزار
