الشعر عند نزار قباني هو السَفَرُ داخل الإنسان، والشاعر، هو ذلك المسافر الأزلي في النفس البشرية وعلى الرغم من رحيله يبقى نزار قباني في أذهاننا شاعر اللحظة، شاعر كل الأزمنة وكل الأجيال، من بلد الياسمين جاء يحمل لنا قصائده الأخيرة "أبجدية الياسمين" فانهارت حبراً يسيل على ورق، حبراً لقلم خط قصائد شاعر لا يشبه إلا كلماته فكانت أبجديته تلك الحروف وتلك الأسطر لواحد من أكبر الشعراء العرب المعاصرين " وواحد من أعظم الآباء - هكذا كتبوا عنه أولاده - هدباء وزينب وعمر " فكان هذا الكتاب "تحية له ولعشاقه قررنا جمع القصائد الأخيرة التي كتبها بين عامي 1997 و 1998 والتي لم تصدر في كتاب من قبل وننشرها كما كتبها بخط يده الجميل لنشارك محبيه كيفية كتابته للشعر ومزاجه والإلهام كيف يأتيه لعله الآن في أجمل مكان يبتسم لنا ... ".
من قصيدة بعنوان "التفرغ" نقرأ للشاعر نزال قباني:
"أكتبك بلغة الشجر / ولغة المطر، ولغة عصافير الكناري / أكتبك / بلغة الإنسان الأول / والعصفور الأول / والمرأة الأولى / التي تبحث عن إسم لأنوثتها / أكتبك على دفاتر دمي / فتزداد ثقافتي / أكتبك قبل أن يكون إيقاع الربابة .. / وقبل أن تكون الكتب والكتابة .. ".
توزعت عناوين القصائد على خمسة عشر قصيدة هي: 1- الوطن حول سريري (1 كانون الأول 1997) ، 2- تعب الكلام من الكلام (15 آذار 1997) ، 3- في الحب المقارن (ربيع 1997)، 4- الحب على نار الحطب (25 أيلول 1997) ، (...) و "يوميات شباك دمشقي" ... وقصائد أخرى.
