هرب نجيب يوماً... ضل طريقه في الصحراء... رأى الموت وجهاً لوجه... أوصله الله إلى بر الأمان... استعاد روحه... رحّلوه إلى وطنه... لقي بينيامين كاتب الرواية... حكى له حكايته ببراءة ولكن بينيامين اكتشف فيها روح رواية مثيرة... حوّلها إلى أرض الواقع في ثوب رواية متكاملة.
ولا أجد بداً من الإشارة هنا إلى أن هذه الرواية مثل أي رواية من نسج الخيال ولكنها تمثل الحقيقة في قليل او كثير وإذا خُيِّل إلى أحد انها تمثل الحقيقة فليس إلا لأنها واقع في إطار معرفته، وإذا خيل إلى آخر إن هذا إلا بهتان عظيم فليس إلا لأنها غير واقع في إطار معرفته.
وأنا كمترجم لست إلا راوياً بريئاً رجوت أن أنقل إلى أبناء عقيدتي ما يُروّج عنهم لكي يكونوا بالمرصاد معترفاً بجميل عرب الخليج الطويل العريض المتخطى حدود الأديان والأجناس، وأعتقد أني لا أكون مذنباً إذا أشرت ونصحت والله من وراء القصد.
