قالها البائعون الذين سكنوا الشارع فمنعوا المارة والسيارات، قالتها الأرصفة التي جلست عليها تأكل علبة كشري صغيرة وضحكاتها كانت تشق السماء طائرة على بساط الأمل، قالها الجالسون على المقاهي يحتسون القهوة وينفثون دخان نراجيلهم وسجائرهم الرخيصة، قالها ركاب المترو، البائعون الجالسون عند مدخل المحطة لمغلقة، برامج التليفزيون التي تبارك العرس الجديد، قالتها ذات العباءة السوداء بغير يأس وهي تتأمل حذاءها البالي من كثرة البحث.
وضعوا في يد صاحبة العباءة جنيها، بقايا ساندويتش، ألقت ما وضعوه في وجوههم وهي تسب وتلعن، تتركهم والدهشة تمتطي وجوههم وتمرح، أمام واجهة المحل نظرت لفستان جديد ولم تفرح، دمعة عانقت المطر، تركت الطرحة تنحسر عن شعرها الطويل، شقت العباءة فانفتحت، أعطتهم دبلة ذهبية وقالت أريده، طردوها، أغرق المطر جسدها المكشوف، سمعت الألسنة التي دعت، التي سبت، التي تحسرت، هو يقول أنها رحلت في يناير هي تقول أنها رحلت قبل العمر بعمر.
