هو الخطوة الأولى على طريق إثراء قضية الوالدية الرشيدة على المستوى العملي. ويُجمع كثير من الخبراء على أن تربية الأطفال والحفاوة بهم هي التجارة الرابحة العظمى، والمهمة الأسمى، والاستثمار الإنساني الأفضل. وعلى ضوء ذلك فإن لهذا الدليل الإرشادي للوالدية ثلاثة أهداف رئيسة: - أولها: التأكيد على أهمية الوالدية الصالحة في تنشئة الطفولة والأسر بتكريس الوعي بكون المسؤولية الوالدية واجبًا وأولويةً عُليا نظريًّا وعمليًّا. - وثانيها: تعريف الوالدين بكيفية اكتساب التعليم والمهارات الضرورية لتطبيق آليات مناسبة لتنشئة مواطنين صالحين يتحلَّون بشخصيةٍ رصينةٍ على خُلُقٍ كريم، تتوفر فيها الخصائص اللازمة لجعلها لَبِنَةً في بناء المجتمع والحضارة الإنسانية القادمة. - وثالثها: مساعدة الوالدين على إيجاد بيئة بيتية أسرية سعيدة ومتناغمة وفعَّالة، بشبكة علاقات متعاضدة بين كل أفرادها، تجعلهم بمثابة الجسد الواحد والبنيان يشُدُّ بعضه بعضًا.
