الدكتور نديم نجدي من مواليد 1965 صريفا – جنوب لبنان، كاتب وباحث لبناني وأستاذ مادّة الفلسفة في الجامعة اللبنانية في كليتي التربية والآداب، نال الدكتوراه في الفلسفة من الجامعة اللبنانية عام 2002 – 2003 إضافة إلى تجربته في التعليم الثانوي الرسمي والخاص من العام 1994 حتى 2001، عالج العديد من الموضوعات الفلسفية والفكرية فيها الكثير من الدقة والعمق في التجربة والتحليل على ما انطوت عليه مضامين كتبه الصادرة والبعض منها قيد الطباعة ناهيك عن نشر العديد من المقالات والأبحاث في الصحف والدوريات الفكرية اللبنانية والعربية.

في سياق البحث عن الخيط الرابط بين موضوع الاستشراق، كمادة غنية بالمشكلات التي وسمت الآخر الشرقي بنمطية محدّدة، والعولمة كحالة جاثمة اليوم على كاهل الإنسان المعاصر، نجد أن ثمّة تواشجاً مضمراً بين قديم الاستشراق وجديد العولمة، ليس في موضوعاتهما، إنّما في الصلة المنعقدة بين فضاءين منفصلين على ما يؤكد وجود علاقة بنيوية بين فائض معرفة نظرية، طفت علينا فعلاً استشراقياً في القرنين المنصرمين، من جهة، وفائض قوّة تكنولوجية واقتدار عسكري ومعرفي، أغرقنا في ثقافة استهلاكية، وسمت عصر العولمة من ناحية ثانية. ولأن الثانية أعقبت الأولى، في سياق زمني قصير، باتت العولمة ملوّثة بعلائق نقمتنا على الاستشراق ، بطريقة تعبّر أكثر عن توجّسنا الخاص من جهلنا بذاك الغريب الحضاري الآتي إلينا من وراء البحار.
