«نقاط مطر من الخوخ» وقصص أخرى عن الشباب من روائع الأدب الصيني الحديث، تشكل في مضمونها قصص قصيرة وبعض حكايات مكتوبة بأسلوب مفهوم يمثل الجوهر الصافي للقصة القصيرة وهي قصص كتّاب شباب من ثلاثة أجيالٍ متتالية في الصين، يحاول مؤلفوها النظر إلى العوالم الروحية المتغيرة للناس خلال هذه العقود المنصرمة.تصور قصة "أنا متألم!" لمؤلفها "تشين كسيو".. الألم، الذي ينقضُّ علينا من داخلنا، ولكنه يشكل في الحقيقة إشارة لأمراض نفسية خطيرة. في القصة، استناداً للألم، جرب بطلها الحياة جسداً وروحاً، متحدثاً عن ضعف وسخافة ومرارة البشر."أنا لا أستطيع أن أهربَ من كلِّ الألم الحاد في حياتي... تعرَّض وجودي بكامله للألم بكل ما في الكلمة من معنى". هكذا يعرض "تشين كسيو" الحياة العادية تحت ضوء الوجود، كاشفاً سخافتها وجذبها ويأسها ليخبرنا عن الوحشية الروحية للشباب، بينما يصبغ المؤلف "ما كسياوكوان" في قصته "اطرق! اطرق الحديد" العمل بالوحشيَّة. لقد جرى وصف "غونغ جيانزهانغ"، الشخصية الرئيسية في قصة "اطرق! اطرق الحديد" كشخص بسيط من خلال لغة المُؤلف البسيطة والمباشرة. فيبدو قتال "غونغ جيانزهانغ" بقبضاته حلاً مقنعاً لمشاكله. ولكن، هل "الوحشية" هي موضوع الشباب؟ قد تكون كذلك في قصة "آه ياو"، للكاتب "با كياو" أو قد لا تكون كذلك في قصة "الصندل" للكاتب "يو زهين"، إن جميع الأيام السعيدة في الشباب متشابهة، بينما كُلُّ ذاكرة حزينة نتيجة أسبابٍ خاصة. هذه هي حقيقة الشباب: الإمكانيات اللانهائية مترافقة دائماً بخداع لا نهائي. صور الكاتب "با كياو" كفاح الفتاة في نهاية القصة قائلاً: "اعتادت عيون "آه ياو" على الظلام"... هذه هي حياة "آه ياو"، الحياة التي يتشاركها آلاف المسلوبين الفقراء...يتألف الكتاب من مقدمة بعنوان: أشكال الشباب الحلوة المرة بقلم "شيه يوشون"، يتبع ذلك إحدى عشر قصة وهي: "الصيف العاري"/ ووشوان، "آه ياو"/ ياكاي، "الولاعة"/ تشياو يي، "اطرق! اطرق الحديد" /ما زياوكوان، "جثة على فلاتس"/ لي شاشا، "حصان قفز جي نيو"/ تشانغ بيران، "مطر الخوخ"/ شو زيشن، "تمتع بالبرودة في ضريح مينغ شياو لينغ"/ وي وي، "المرأة تحت عريشة العنب"/ يان جي، "اللوح المكسور"/ لي هاو، "أنا أتألم!"/ تشن شيو.
