الشعر عند سُكينة حبيب الله، حلم وأمل وألم، إنه إشعاع يسطع كالشمس موزعاً نوره في كل اتجاه، فالشاعرة تمتلك لغة مؤثثة بالأناقة والتكثيف والبحث عن مكامن الجمال، لذلك تراها تنتقي ملفوظاتها انتقاءً ذكياً، وتهندس نصوصها بتلقائية كبيرة، بغية إيصالها إلى ذاكرة المتلقي بإشارات ودلالات رمزية واضحة، تنساب عبر خيال خصب ينصبُّ في واقع النص وتنوعاته.في ربعُ قرنٍ من النظر وهو ربع قرن من عمر الشاعرة تبدو سُكينة منشغلة بالتقاط مفردات الحياة، بوعي حادٍ بها مفلسفةً الأشياء والكائنات والموجودات على طريقتها، تتوجه بأشعارها إلى الكل، إلى كل من تعج ذاكرتها بأصواتهم وصورهم، تُسائلهم قائلة: "من أية شجرة احتطبوا طيننا المتُعب؟"كصفحةٍ ملآى/ بكلماتٍ خاطئة،/ هي وجوهنا./ كصفحةٍ ملآى بكلماتٍ خاطئةٍ/ مشطوبة/ هي وجوهنا/ التي تغطيها الجراح/ - خبِّئنا يا عُمر تحتَ لحاءِ أوجاعك/ نحن صمغ الوقتِ نُلصِق شظايا/ صورتكَ البعيدةِ في زجاجِ العينِ،/ هاويةً تلو هاوية/ حُبّاً تِلوَ حُبٍّ/ شوقاً تِلو شوكٍ/ فواتاً تِلو موات/ كانتفاضةِ الندم الأخيرة،/ كاستغاثة ممرغةٍ في مدىً/ قاحل./ كيدٍ وحيدةٍ../ عبثاً../ تُلوِّح/ للجسدِ المبتور".يضم الكتاب عدد من القصائد النثرية جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: 1- ربع قرنٍ من النظر، 2- من يُلبسُ الدمعتينِ الحافيتين حذاء؟، 3- من سحبَ من تحتِ الحياةِ كُرسيها؟، 4- من وضعني على كفِّ الحياة وانصرف؟، 5- من أية شجرة احتطبوا طيننا المتعب؟، و6- بمَ تحلمُ البيوت حين تُغمض النوافذ؟
