يشكل الغياب ثيمة مركزية في قصيدة الشاعر جورج كميل شلهوب "دعوة خاصة من صديقي سيروان" بما هي سعي وراء المُغيب، واستنباط لما وراء الحضور، من زاوية الدال، والمدلول؛ فحضور الذات/الشاعرة تمثل الشكل، والغياب للصديق – سيوران – يمثل الدلالة التي يتم البحث عنها من خلال الحضور؛ وبهذا المعنى يصبح الدال علائمة عائمة يحاول المتلقي تثبيتها للوصول إلى المعنى الذي سوّر من خلاله الشاعر شخصية قصيدته بما تحيل إليه من مفارقات درامية، وأبعاد مأساوية عميقة، تحولت بعد ذلك إلى قراءة تدين الحرب وتؤشر مأساتها من لدن الشخصية البطلة حتى تصل القصيدة نهايتها لتتكشف الأكذوبة التي يعيش فيها إنسان عصرنا، أكذوبة الحرب والتضحية.
من عوالم القصيدة نقرأ:
"... تسهر على ليلٍ مجروح /تجرّه ذئابٌ جائعة في أودية أرقكَ. /الذين سقطوا فيكَ /عَلَتْ كسورهم /وصارتْ /أبراجاً لأشباحكَ الضالة. / (...) / تحدّق كقاتلٍ /لم يعثر على جريمته بعد. /الضحايا الذين أخذوا حسراتهم / تركوكَ في صرخةٍ بلا فضاء. /هواؤك معلّقٌ على مسامير غريبة /ليلُكَ مغلقٌ على صراخٍ يسيل /وحلبتُكَ مفتوحةٌ على قتلى ينهضون. /لم يأتِ أحدٌ/كلّ الذين جاؤوا / لم يصلوا./الذين احترقوا /لا يزالون يصرخون في شجرة أصواتكَ الضالّة. /العالم في رأسكَ/دجاجة مذعورة /هناك ثعالب جائعة /لم تأكل بعد. /حياتكُ /وصلتْكَ /كمكالمةٍ /خاطئة".
