هذا المسار الخاص لبطل رواية «تشرين» ولراويها الروائي خالد منصور هو ما يمكن رصده هنا في الرواية. فتقدم لنا شخصية قلقة دائمة الترحال ناجحة تمتلك نضجاً وروية وخبرة على جميع الأصعدة، إلاَّ صعيداً واحداً، ألا وهو الحب. فياسر بطل الحكاية الذي لم يطأ عتبة الأربعين بعد، جرب كثيراً في كل شيء، إلاَّ الحب. ففي الحب لم يعرف غير مذهب واحد، مذهب وجده في ذاته، لم يخضع للتطور أو التغير، كما وجده أبقاه.
وفي تظهير الحكاية، يعود ياسر من مقر عمله فنزويلا إلى لبنان بناءً على طلب والديه بعد تدهور الأوضاع الأمنية هناك. أراد أن يزاول عملاً ما، إلا أنه تلقى نصائح من الأهل والأصدقاء أن يتريث، فما اعتاده في الخارج، مختلف كلياً عن الواقع في بلاده. ألا أن الجميع اتفقوا على أمر واحد بالنسبة إليه وهو الزواج فبدأوا يلحون عليه بالأمر، ولأنه مر بتجربتان فاشلتان، يئس من الزواج، ومن النساء، وخاف من الفشل في الثالثة. ونسي أن الحياة يمكن أن تعطي الحب أكثر من مرة.
كانت صدفةً جميلة، أخيراً التقاها، كانت "لمياء" الآتية من بلاد المغرب العربي في بعثة دراسية أحس بالحنو تجاهها، إلا أن إحساسه تجاهها كرجل كان الأكثر طغياناً، ورغبة فيها، لم تكن رغبة شهوة، إنما كانت رغبة رجل تائه، يبحث عن امرأة ظن أن لا وجود لها إلاَّ في مخيلته، فإذا بوادر وجودها في الواقع بدأت تلوح في الأفق.
