«رَقصَة حُب خلف الأحلام» هي رواية لكل من يؤمن بالحُب ويبحث عنه في الواقع وفي الأحلام معاً؛ لقد صنَّع بطل الرواية فتاة أحلامه بخيوطٍ ماتعة الأعطاف مفعمة بالقيم الجمالية بعيداً عن المنطق المألوف في الحياة؛ ما يجعل من نصه خطاباً سردياً نقيضاً للنزعة الذكورية أحادية الصوت، حين كشف لنا الصوت الآخر المخبوء داخله، الصوت الحالم (الرومانسي) الذي تندغم فيه كل الأصوات لتعبر عن مواصفات "المرأة" التي يبحث عنها "الرجل"، فخرج لنا بنص جميل عن حبٍ مستحيل تحديده أو توصيفه، حبٌ يكتب نفسه بنفسه قبل أن يكتبه صاحبه؛ فكأنما كان ذريعة لصياغة نص آخر، داخل النص، نص مفتوح، ومنفتح، منفلت من كل أداة تخضعه للثبات أو حتى للتحقق.
ولأن خير الكلام ما يقوله المبدع عن عمله، قدّم الروائي باسل عبد الله لروايته بمقدمة ومما جاء فيها: "هذه الرواية مُحاولة للتعبير عن مشاعر تُرافق حياةَ كلِّ إنسان مِنّا... هي محاولة لترجمة أفكار مِن نسج مُخيّلةٍ تخلقُ لنا بِحرفيّة، على مدار أيام حياتنا، صُوَراً ومَشاهدَ تختلط بواقعنا حتى تنصهر فيه، فتُزوِّدُنا بسلسلة من اللحظات الجميلة والحميمة التي ترسم البهجة في قلوبنا، والتي نَبنِي عليها، لأوقات، مَزاجنا الحسن.
إنها رواية مبنيَّة على الواقع من جهة، وعلى الأحلام والأمنيات من جهة أخرى..."
