كيف يكتبُ الحوار؟ تمثّل كتابة الحوار تحديّا حقيقيًا لكاتب الرواية؛ فهي ترتبطُ بجُملة من الخياراتِ الفنيّة بالغة الدقّة، التي يجدُ الكاتب نفسه مضطرّا للمفاضلة بينها، عن طريقِ المحاولة والخطأ، فيما يشبه العمل المختبري، التجريبي، الذي يستغرقه عشرات المحاولات من الكتابة والمحو، حتى يصل إلى الصيغة المطلوبة. إن "الكتابة الأدبية ليست سوى نجارة"، كما يقولُ ماركيز، وعليهِ فهي تتطلب حرفيةً عالية، ووعيًا حادًا، بطبيعة القرارات الفنيّة التي يجدر بالروائي اتخاذها ليخرج عمله بالشكلِ المطلوب. وأحد أهم الأسئلة التي تعترضُ طريق الروائي داخل نصّه؛ سؤال الحوار.هذا الكتاب، هو محاولة في هذا الطريق.
