وعندما قرأت لأول مرة الرواية بشكلها المختصر كونها معدة للأطفال في مكتبة المدرسة البسيطة في قريتنا، أدركت أن فهم هكذا روايات خالدة من خلال مختصر لها يجعلها تسكن فيكَ بحواس غريبة حتى قبل أن تقرأها كاملة، لهذا فالدون القشتالي أو الأشبيلي أو الغرناطي منحني الشعور أن ما ضاع في الأندلس هو ما يستطيع دون كيشوت أن يجلبه لنا من خلال فنتازيا بناء الانتصار القادم حتى حين نحارب طواحين هواء.
