بعيداً عن القلعة الشؤم تلك، تفرَّقت القبائل في اتجاه، وغادروا السهول والتلال المحيطة بها، وضربت الطبيعة زناراً من الأشواك حولها، ولم يفتح المزلاج لأحد، بل اختفت الأنفاس وحلّ الظلام في كل شيء، فبعضهم قال: إن إبراهيم نحر ابنته وانتحر، ومنهم من قال بأن إبراهيم كان قائماً لحكم الرب في حياته، فرحل مع ابنته سارة إلى البرية من جديد بصورة أفعى وذئب، وهما الآن يعيشان في البراري، وعادت حياتهم الأسطورية للبروز من جديد، في صراع من أجل البقاء، صراع الحياة والموت، صراع الأجيال القادمة، وعلى الرغم من مرور السنين، ما تزال القلعة بحجارتها قائمة، وقد غطّتها أشجار السنديان من كل جوانبها، وحكاية إبراهيم وسارة تطفو على كل الحكايات الغامضة التي لم يستطع أحد تفسيرها أو فك لغزها المحيِّر.
