في الميثولوجيا الشعبية، لا يُنصح بفتح مقص، أو تفصيل ثوب في يوم الأربعاء، فهي نذير شؤم، ولكن لماذا "لا تقصصي القصص يوم الأربعاء" ؟ هذا العنوان يؤشر على وحدة دالة تكتسب عند الكاتبة دُنى غالي مدلولات عدة، فيشير إلى صورة الأب الناقد الأدبي والمنظر جورج برانداس الذي أحدث انعطافة كبيرة في الأدب الإسكندنافي، وكان له تأثيره على سائر الأدب في أوروبا، ورثت عن أبيها يومياته على مدى خمسين عاماً، بخط يده الناعم.
في هذا الكتاب تقدم دُنى غالي نصوصاً نثرية تقع بين القصة والسيرة الذاتية التأملات، حين يحتوي الكتاب على أكثر من جنس أدبي، وعبر صفحاته "تتذكر في هذه النصوص لحظات رهيفة باتت شظايا .. هي تجمعها في صور متخيلة ومتحولة وسريعة الذوبان والتبعثر .. من هنا سر الحزن الإختزال المخيمان على لغتها".
في القصة الأولى "لا تقصصي القصص يوم الأربعاء" ترسم الكاتبة صورة عبثية عن امرأة حالمة هي (العمة) تعيش في داخلها أكثر مما تعيش واقعها، حتى بلّدت مشاعرها وطغى رمادها على جمر السنين فخبا، تعيش قصة حب فاشلة، كلفتها عنوسة ثقيلة الوقع طيلة حياتها، وهي على قناعة أنه حتى الأحلام تهرب في هذا اليوم "يوم الأربعاء" وظلت تقول: لعلي تركت المقص مفتوح الساقين! ألم تضف، وقد كانت على يقين، ولا تمسكي مقصاً، ولا تفصّلي قماشاً يوم الأربعاء (...) وبصوت واهن؛ حاذري الآن، وأنت تكتبين".
يُشار إلى أن الكاتبة دُنى غالي كاتبة ومترجمة مقيمة في الدانمارك، صدر لها عدد من الروايات ومجاميع نصوص نثرية وشعرية، ولها إصدارات أدبية باللغة الدنماركية، إضافة إلى ترجمات أدبية من اللغة الدنماركية إلى العربية.
