اتفق نزار مع رفاقه تلاميذ مدرسة الوحدة العربية على أن يجمعوا معلومات جغرافية وصوراً عن مدن وطنهم العربي الكبير ليطبعوها في كتاب اسمه "ربوع بلادي". فنشروا إعلاناً في الصحف يطلبون فيه مساعدة إخوانهم الأطفال بأن يرسل كل منهم معلومات وصوراً عن مدينته... فوصلتهم رسائل كثيرة. منها هذه الرسائل الثمانية التي بين أيدينا والتي تحتوي جميعها على صور فوتوغرافية ومعلومات تاريخية وأخرى جغرافية، وفلكلورية وسكانية عن ثماني مدن عربية عرف عنها العراقة والقدم وهذه المدن هي: بغداد، صنعاء، أبو ظبي، الخرطوم، نواكشوط، القاهرة، حلب، مسقط.
