الكتاب هو استعراض لمسيرة حسين الواد النقدية و الروائي
الأكاديمي والناقد والروائي حسين الواد توفي يوم السبت 2 جوان 2018، (ولد الراحل في 20 مارس 1948 في مدينة المكنين)، آخر أعماله الروائية هي « الغربان » الصادرة عن دار الجنوب حيث تستعد دار النشر نفسها لإصدار أعماله الكاملة بدعم من وزارة الشؤون الثقافية.
تحصل الفقيد على شهادة دكتوراه الدولة في اللغة العربية وآدابها. ودرّس بالجامعات التونسية وبعض الجامعات العربية النظريات والمناهج النقدية الحديثة وتطبيقاتها على الأدب العربي.
أسهم الراحل في السبعينيات من القرن الماضي في تأسيس حركة الطليعة الأدبية بتونس وكان بحثه المنشور تحت عنوان “البنية القصصية في رسالة الغفران” من البحوث المبتكرة التي طبقت المنهج البنيوي في الجامعات العربية، مثلما كان بحثه “المتنبي والتجربة الجمالية عند العرب: تلقي القدامى لشعره” تجربة باكرة أيضا في الاستفادة من نظريات التلقي والتطبيق على الأدب العربي القديم.
من أهم اصدارات الراحل، « في تأريخ الأدب: مفاهيم ومناهج »، « في مناهج الدراسات الأدبية »، « المتنبي والتجربة الجمالية عند العرب: تلقي القدامى لشعره »، « جمالية الأنا في شعر الأعشى الكبير »، « روائح المدينة »، « سعادته… السيد الوزير ».
