منذ البدء بقراءة "أمل وأسماء" يظهر بجلاء ذلك الصوت الأنثوي الذي يجلجل بنغمة إنسانية عالية جداً تنبع من عمق روحها. إنها الشاعرة / المهندسة أمل الشنقيري أرمسترونغ، وقد اختزلت تجربتها الحياتية بقصائد مهرت بتوقيعها، وهي تدعو القراء لتذوق معانيها ومؤثراتها.
في القصيدة المعنونة بـ (رؤيا) رصد حالة شعرية (شعورية) تحمل روح السلام، وتصل إلى مرحلة الإشباع الشعري، وتكشف عن حرفية واضحة في بناء النص، وعلى مستوى عالٍ من الحكمة والإيمان. تقول الشاعرة:
"أيا نفسُ أرتقي عن هذه الدنيا / وحلقي بعيداً إلى دار العليْ ، ترفّعي أبداً عن إهانةٍ أو سبابٍ / أنتِ من ضربَ به مثلُ الرقيْ ، لا تتذمري من بُدٍّ فرضَ عليكِ / تلك حالةٌ زائلةٌ وظرفٌ آنيْ ، كم من أنواعِ بشرٍ في هذا العالمِ / واحدٌ يمثّلُ ، آخرُ يدمرُّ، وقلةٌ تبني.
وبقراءة متأنية للديوان أكثر ندرك أن الشاعرة أمل في لبنانيتها رومانسية المشاعر، تمزج ألوان الحب مع الفرح، في لوحات شعرية تشعل الإحساس وتنميه، وترفعه إلى الذروة وخاصة عندما تتوجه بقصائدها إلى الوطن والأهل والزوج والولد، حيث خصتهم باستحوذات جميلة، تمظهرت بطاقة تعبيرية جمالية وبإضاءات صورية ودلالية ولغوية خاصة.
يضم الديوان قصائداً في الشعر العربي الموزون والمقفى وأخرى في الشعر العربي الحديث، ونصوص نثرية جاءت باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية وحملت العناوين الآتية: "ماريا" ، "رندى" ، "ندى" ، "ريتا" ، "كريمتي" ، "حبي الغالي" ، "يا طالع عحمطورة" ، "صورة الله" ، "الحب" ، "يا إلهي" ، "أمي - هدى" ، "صلاة" ، (...) وعناوين أخرى.
