حاصل على الإجازة في العلوم السياسية من الجامعة اللبنانية حيث تخرج في العام 1969.
تخرج من معهد الادارة الذي يعمل على اعداد موظفين للوظائف العليا في الدولة، وكان رئيس دائرة في عدة وزارات.
عمل لفترة قصيرة مع الامم المتحدة،الاسكوا.
متفرغ للكتابة منذ حوالي ست سنوات.
يكتب في الميدان السياسي والفكري في عدد من الصحف اللبنانية والعربية: النهار اللبنانية، السفير، الحياة، الوسط (الكويت)، اوان (الكويت)، موقع الاوان.
صدر له كتابان عن دار الطليعة في بيروت، الاول بعنوان : المجتمعات العربية المأزومة واعاقات الحداثة المركبة في العام 2008، والثاني : وجها لوجه مع الفكر الاصولي في العام الجاري 2009.
Book Description
تعيش المنطقة العربية منذ سنوات حالاً من العنف المتخذ أشكالاً طائفية ومذهبية. يطرح هذا الانفجار العنفي جملة أسئلة عن الأسباب التي تجعل الأديان متّسمةً بهذا الطابع. فهل يعود العنف إلى بنية الأديان التي تحمل جرثومة القتل والقتل المضاد؟ وإذا كان العنف الديني موضع التساؤل الأبرز، فإنّ دوافعه تكمن في العودة إلى الانقسامات والانشقاقات التي حصلت داخل كل دين، وأدّت إلى بروز طوائف ومذاهب يدّعي كلّ واحد منها انتساب الإله إلى منظومته. مما يطرح السؤال عن مشروعية الطوائف والمذاهب في التعبير عن الدين الحقيقي. فالدين في الأصل وجد لخدمة الإنسان، ويتّسم بالمطلق الأخلاقي والإنساني والروحي، ويدعو إلى تحقيق قيم العدالة والمساواة بين البشر. وما تمارسه المذاهب والطوائف من اقتتال وخلق للكراهية بين أبناء الدين الواحد، أو بين الأديان المتقابلة، يناقض الجوهر الأصلي الذي قامت عليه الأديان.
يسلّط هذا الكتاب الضوء على تحوّل الأديان إلى مذاهب وطوائف وما ترتّب على ذلك من صراعات دموية لا تزال ترخي بظلالها على شعوب العالم.
