وذلك بالإضافة إلى عدد من الأبحاث والدراسات المنشورة في دوريات وإصدارات مختلفة في خلال عمله في جامعات السودان والعالمين العربي الإسلامي، وفي معهد البحوث والدراسات العربية التابع لجامعة الدول العربية ـ القاهرة، الذي تولى فيه أمانة البحث العلمي في قسم التاريخ.

يلقي هذا الكتاب الضوء على حقبة مهمّة من تاريخ شبه الجزيرة العربية كان لها الأثر البالغ في تكوين الممالك والإمارات الخليجية في عصرنا الحاضر، ويرصد النسيج السياسي والاجتماعي والاقتصادي السائد وقتها. ويتناول السياسة الاستعمارية لبريطانيا للحفاظ على مصالحها الحيوية في الخليج. وقد استجاب لتلك السياسة عامة الشيوخ، ولم يخرجوا عليها إلا نادراً حفاظاً منهم على المصالح الذاتية والقبلية.
وبناء عليه، يعالج هذا الكتاب فترة المجابهة بين هذه السياسة البريطانية الوطيدة الأركان وسياسات الحكومة العثمانية المضطربة التي اتسمت بالتردّد والضعف في منطقة قطر، والتي انتهت إلى ما خطّط له أساطين الاستعمار العالمي .
