يضم هذا الكتاب مجموعة دراسات/قراءات في الشعر العربي المعاصر، عبر مدارات منهجية تنهض على تعدد مسالك القراءة النقدية التي تتعاطى الإبداع، وتغتني به، وتستهدفه، في سياق محاول الوصول إلى غايات قصية رئيسة، تتمثل في (إضاءة النص) الشعري إضاءة تنطوي على زوايا ومواقع متعددة، وإسقاطات لونية مختلفة، في سبيل سير أغور النصوص الشعرية، وكشف عوالمها ورؤاها، والتجذر في أصولها وأحوالها، وتفجير أسئلتها وهواجسها، ورصد أكوانها وفضاءاتها، وتحليل أنظمة علاماتها وإيقاعاتها، واستخلاص عناصرها ومكوناتها الدالة، وتعيين نماذجها الدلالية، واستنطاق علاقات خطابها، والمشاركة في إنتاج وصياغة هذا الخطاب، ووصله بإيديولوجية الشاعر وواقعة وأحلامه، والكتاب يبدأ مباشرة، دون مقدمة منهجية-أو مدخل حصري-تجمع أطراف وموضوعات القراءات النقدية المضمنة في الكتاب. ربما حرصأً من الناقدة اعتدال عثمان على تأكيد اغتناء هذه القراءات بالتعدد المنهجي والمعرفي والثقافي، دون تعمد تشبيكها وتضفيرها منهجياً. وتضيء هذه القراءة نصوص شعرية لشعراء عرب يغطون أبرز محطات المشهد الشعري العربي المعاصر: أدونيس، محمود درويش، أمل دنقل، صلاح عبد الصبور، أحمد عبد المعطي حجازي، محمد عفيفي مطر، عبد الوهاب البياتي، سعدي يوسف. بهذا الكتاب تستكمل هذه السلسلة تجسيد خطتها فلي الاهتمام بالدراسات النقدية المتعامدة على الشعر، باعتباره لا يزال يتمتع بشهوة القراءة النقدية.
