يعدّد منافع المركبات الذاتية القيادة ومضارّها، مقارنة بالمركبات العادية.
يتناول مختلف الجوانب القانونية للموضوع، مشيراً إلى تجارب أميركا وأوروبا في هذا المضمار.
يبنّد ما في اتفاقيّتيْ جنيف وفيينا من موادّ متعلّقة بتحديد المسؤولية لدى وقوع الحوادث التي تسبّبها تلك المركبات.
يتطرّق إلى القانون اللبناني ومواقف بعض موادّه من تقنيات مشابهة، لإسقاطها باجتهاد على المركبات الذاتية القيادة في حال تسييرها في لبنان.
يعود بالتاريخ إلى طرافة السيارات التي كانت الخيول تقودها ، وكيف تطوّرت، وصولاً إلى تجارب الشركات العالمية على العربات الذاتية القيادة في مراحل متلاحقة.
هو المرجع الوحيد باللغة العربية لهذا الموضوع، لعدم تطبيق هذه التكنولوجيا في أي دولة عربية أو آسيوية بعد، باستثناء تجربة إماراتية محتملة بدأت.
سياراتٌ تقود نفسها، وتستشعر البيئة المحيطة بها، وتتواصل مع بقية السيارات في الشوارع ولا تحتاج إلى تدخّل بشري، وتخفّض بالتالي احتمالات حوادث السير والوفيات الناتجة منها. إنها الثورة القادمة، لكن عقباتٍ وتحدياتٍ كثيرة تقف في وجه هذه الثورة وينبغي تذليلها.
