حصلت روايتها “النباتية” على جائزة المان بوكر الدولية لعام 2016، كما وصل كتابها “الكتاب الأبيض” للقائمة القصيرة لنفس الجائزة عام 2018.

كتبت هان الكتاب أثناء إقامتها في وارسو، مدينة تحوم فيها ظلال الماضي العنيف، تجد هان نفسها مطارَدة بحكاية أختها الكبيرة التي ماتت بعد ساعتين فقط من ولادتها.
تلجأ الرواية لإستكشاف الأشياء البيضاء - القماط التي كان في الوقت نفسه تابوتاً لأختها، حليب الأم الذي لم تستطع أختها أن تشربه، الصفحة الفارغة التي حاولت أن تعيد كتابة القصة فيها وغيرها من خلال لغة شاعرية ومكثفة.
تجوب الرَّواية الشوارع غير المألوفة لها والمكسوَّة بالثلج، حيث المباني التي سُحقت من قبل في أثناء الحرب، تتداخل هوية تلك الشوارع وتتشابك وتجد الرواية نفسها تسأل: "هل يمكنني أن أمنح أختي هذه الحياة؟".
الكتاب الأبيض كتاب لا مثيل له في فكرته وبنائه، إنه تأمّل في اللون، في هشاشة وصلابة الروحِ البشريةِ ومحاولتنا الدؤوبة لإنتزاع حياة جديدة من رماد دمار الماضي.
