وعلى الرغم من أنّنا أمام بطلة متعلّمة ومثقّفة عاشت استقراراً عائلياً في أُسْرتها قبلَ الزواج، إلا أنّ هذا الزوجَ التقليديّ المتسلّط سيطرَ عليها في سجْنِ قَصْرِهِ ما يقارب العقْدَ من الزمن، قبلَ أن تنجحَ في التمرّد أخيراً، والانتفاض للحصول على حقِّها في العيش بالطريقة التي ترتضيها لنفسها.
