يترجم هذا الكتاب لثماني عشرة مبدعاً ومبدعة من الأردن وفلسطين
في الشعر والسّرد والدّرس الأدبي، لم أخترهم عمداً لأن ثمّة كثيرين
غيرهم يستحقون أن يكونوا بينهم، بل هم الذين كلّفت بإعداد سيرهم إعداداً موسوعياً من لجنة «قاموس الأدب العربي الحديث» بإشراف الأستاذ الدكتور حمدي السّكّوت لتدرج في الطبعة الثالثة منه (دار الشروق- القاهرة).
المبدعون والمبدعات هم: إبراهيم طوقان، وإبراهيم نصرالله، وإلياس فركوح، وأمجد ناصر، وتيسير سبول، وثريا ملحس، وحيدر محمود، وراضي صدّوق، وسميحة خريس، وعبدالرحيم عمر، وعبدالمنعم الرّفاعي، وعّز الدين المناصرة، وعيسى النّاعوري، وفدوى طوقان، ومحمد القيسيّ، ومصطفى وهبي التل (عرار)، ومؤنس الرزاز، ويعقوب العودات (البدوي الملثم).
المهم في هذه التراجم أنها لا تقف عند الترجمة التعريفية سيرةً وإنتاجاً حسب، إنّما ترفدها بتنويرات نقدّية مهمّة كاشفة عمّا في أعمال المبدع أو المبدعة من سماتٍ عامّة في المضمون والفنّ علّها تنبر معالم للمتلقين، ويكون فيها عون وفائدة للباحثين والدّارسين والنقّاد. ناهيك بذكر أظهر المصادر والمراجع وأبرزها عن كلٍّ منهم، التي تهدي،كذلك، إلى مصادر ومراجع أُخرى.
