في الصحراء داخل خيمة كبيرة أقف وحيدة مرتدية عباءة طقوس (قتل النجم) السوداء رسم عليها بسخاء خليط من رموز ورسوم باللون الأبيض لتحتار أي لون هو الأصل. تحتها فتاة عارية الجسد ترتدي اسم وقدر أخرى. مع أول خطواتي الحافية للخارج أسدل العباءة من على جسدي. لدي تحسس زائد تجاه شكل جسدي في العادة. ليس اليوم. ليس الآن. أشعر بملمس نظراتهم على جسدي. أجفل للحظة مع صوت أول المُنشدين. يركع الجميع عن يميني ويساري على صدورهم تقرع قبضاتهم تارة وترتفع ككفوف ناحيتي تارة. في نهاي الصفين مذبح خشبي مُزخرف. ما أن أصل للمذبح حتى ألتفت معطية إياه وكريم ظهري فاردة ذراعي كالطير ورافعة كفي لأعلى كرسمة فرعونية. عدد من الأبر المُلتهبة تنغرس أسفل رقبتي لتصنع على جسدي ذكرى مرئية لطقس اليوم للأبد. لقد رأيت شكل الوشم الذي يقومون برسمه الآن قبل الطقس خاتم بابليون.
