فانتازيا سوداوية تدور معظم أحداثها في مملكة زراد من اربع وجهات نظر مختلفة لكاهنة نار وقاتل مأجور وطبيب الوباء ونبيلة مطرودة
في وقت تحاصر المملكة بالكثير من الأخطار .
جلالة الملك.
أخط تلك الكلمات آملًا أن تتفهم أسباب ما أنوي فعله.. أقسمت سلالة (آنشتون) منذ الوباء الأول على ألا يدخل الوباء مملكتنا مرة أخرى، لم يحنث أي من أسلافي بذلك القسم... وكوني آخر الناجين من سلالتي لن يجعلني أول الحانثين.
السفن المحملة بالوباء ترسو على شواطئنا، ومن تبقى من النبلاء في (ثيام) يتهامسون بأن تلك لعنة القمر الغائب، وأن وجودك سوف يكون سبب دخول الوباء مرة ثانية لـ(زراد).
تلك المرة مُخلصًا (زراد) من الملاعين، ومن كهنة النار، ومؤذنًا بعودة من تبقى من النبلاء المؤمنين، ليرفعوا ذكر القمر الغائب مرة أخرى.
جلالة الملك إذا دخل الوباء ديارنا سيكون هذا عاري وحدي، ولن يتحمله غيري. ولا يوجد ما أستطيع صنعه لإيقاف ذلك… ليس وأنا هُنا في (زراد).
الوباء قادم مع قاطني ما خلف الوادي، في أرض الممالك القديمة، والمؤكد أن مصدر الوباء إما في الوادي أو في (بحر السجراء)؛ فلن يطيق مريض رحلة الوادي أو ركوب البحر ذلك مؤكد.
اليوم وبعد أن أُسَلِّم رسالتي سأنطلق مرتحلًا إلى أراضي الممالك القديمة باحثًا عن مصدر الوباء، ذلك الأمل الوحيد.
إما تحييد المصدر وإما تخليق علاج منه، هذا أو أن تنتهي سلالة (آنشتون) قبل أن يدخل الوباء (زراد).
