يعد هذا الكتاب مقامة في صفة صاحب الذوق السليم والمسلوب الذوق اللئيم، بدأه مصنفه بذكر بعض صفات صاحب العقل والذكاء، وثنى بضده وهو الأحمق، ثم ذكر صاحب الذوق السليم من الملوك، وضده من الأمراء والأجناد وأبناء الترك والغلمان، ثم ذكر بعد ذلك القضاة والموقعين والخطباء والكتاب وغير ذلك إلى أن ختم بأصحاب الطرب من المغنين والملحنين، وأنهى كتابه بأرجوزة في مقامات الغناء، وهو في كل ذلك يلج مولجًا عاميًّا لا نقول محضًا؛ وذلك لعدم تشديده في النحو في هذا الجزء بالذات، ويراعي أحكام السجع ولو على حساب اللغة والنحو، وقد أدرج كثيرًا من الكلمات التركية والفارسية الأصل التي كانت شائعة في عصره وهو العصر المملوكي. حمل هذا الكتاب وإستفد منه وشاركه مع الأهل والأصدقاء.
