محمد بن الحسين، أبو جعفر البرجلاني: فاضل، بغدادي، من الحنابلة.
نعته ابن أبي يعلى بصاحب التصانيف.
وقال الخطيب البغدادي: هو صاحب كتاب (الزهد والرقائق).
نسبته إلى (برجلان) من قرى واسط، أو إلى محلة (البرجلانية)

Book Description
جمع البرجلاني في هذا الكتاب بعض الأحاديث والآثار التي تدخل في حسن الخلق مثله صلة الرحم، والكرم، والحياة، والحب في الله، ونحو ذلك.
ومجموع الأحاديث والآثار المذكورة في الكتاب ثلاثة وسبعون حديثا وأثرا، وبلغت الأحاديث المرفوعة تسعة وعشرين حديثا، والآثار الموقوفة على الصحابة أربعة عشر أثرا، كما بلغت الآثار المقطوعة مما تنسب إلى التابعين ومن بعدهم ثلاثين أثرا.
منهج المؤلف:
سار البرجلاني في كتابه على طريقة المحدثين من حديث إيراد الاخبار بأسانيدها، ولم يشر البرجلاني إلى تعليق أو توضيح أو شرح للمادة التي جمعها، وإنما كان همه إيراد الاخبار المتعلقة بموضوع كتابه مروية بسنده إلى أصحابها.
