الْيَاء من كَلِمَات الْعَرَبيَّة توضح مَا فِيهَا من أَقسَام وَأَحْكَام حَتَّى تصير خفياتها جلية أسأَل الله تَعَالَى بفضله العميم أَن ينفع بهَا قَارِئهَا والناظر فِيهَا بقلب سليم وَقد رتبت الْكَلَام فِيهَا على ثَلَاثَة فُصُول وخاتمة نرجو حسنها وَالْقَبُول
الْفَصْل الأول فِي أقسامها
اعْلَم أَن أيا فِي الْعَرَبيَّة على سِتَّة أوجه
1 - أَحدهَا أَن تكون شَرْطِيَّة كَقَوْلِه تَعَالَى {أيا مَا تدعوا فَلهُ الْأَسْمَاء الْحسنى}
2 - الثَّانِي أَن تكون استفهامية كَقَوْلِه تَعَالَى {فَأَي الْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَق بالأمن}
3 - الثَّالِث أَن تكون صفة لنكرة نَحْو مَرَرْت بِفَارِس أَي فَارس
4 - الرَّابِع أَن تكون حَالا لمعْرِفَة نَحْو مَرَرْت بزيد أَي زيد وَهِي فِي الوصفية والحالية على معنى الْكَمَال
5 - الْخَامِس أَن تكون مَوْصُولَة كَقَوْلِه تَعَالَى {ثمَّ لننزعن من كل شيعَة أَيهمْ أَشد}
الْفَصْل الثَّانِي فِيمَا يلْزمهَا من الْإِضَافَة
أعلم أَن أيا فِي جَمِيع أقسامها وَاجِبَة الْإِضَافَة إِمَّا لفظا أَو تَقْديرا إِلَّا الْوَاقِعَة وصلَة فَإِنَّهَا لَيست مُضَافَة لَا لفظا وَلَا تَقْديرا - السَّادِس أَن تكون وصلَة لنداء
