أحمد رجب شلتوت (17 أبريل 1962) كاتب مصري ينتمى لمدينة أبو النمرس، حاصل على بكالوريوس تجارة من جامعة القاهرة ويعمل محاسبا وحصل على جوائز ادبية عدة منها جائزة جريدة الشعب المركز الأول في القصة سنة 1989 ونادي القصة المركز الأول سنة 1997 وجائزة احسان عبد القدوس سنة 2008 وجمعية الأدباء سنة 2007 وجائزة ساقية الصاوى للقصة القصيرة جدا قي2010وفاز مرات عديدة في مسابقات الثقافة الجماهيرية ووزارة الشباب في القصة القصيرة والرواية والمسرحية. اصدر 4مجموعات قصصية هي العائد إلى فرحانة 1996 والسعار والشذى 1998 ودم العصفور 2002.ساعة قبل النوم2009 وفى عا م2006 اصدر رواية حالة وشحن وقصص للاطفال بعنوان العش للعصافير.

شهدت الرواية العربية في القرن الجديد ربيعا غير مسبوق، تمثل فيما حققته من تحولات في اللغة والخيال والموضوعات والأشكال والرؤى والمواقف، وقد تأثرت بما مر به المجتمع العربي من منعطفات في العقود الثلاثة الأخيرة ، بحيث يمكن أن نضع نماذجها المميزة بين قوسي حرب الخليج الثانية وفشل ثورات الربيع العربي.. وقد أزهر ربيع الرواية بنفسجات بلون الأسى الذي يلون المجتمع كله، فشكلت الروايات بتنوع اتجاهاتها ورؤاها باقة من البنفسج بديع لكن أسيان، فقد انعكس فيه كل ما في واقعنا من قهر وأسى.
