.. يُعرف الشخص ذو الاحتياجات الخاصة بأنه الفرد الذي لديه قصور في القيام بدوره ومهامه بالنسبة لنظرائه من نفس السن والبيئة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والطبية ، وتلك الأدوار والمهام قد تكون في مجال التعليم أو اللعب أو التكوين المهني والعلمي أو العلاقات العائلية وغيرها .
تعريف الطفل غير الطبيعي:
هو الطفل الذي لا يصل إلى مستوى الأطفال الأسوياء الذين في مثله سنه بسبب عاهة خاصة جسمية أو حسية أو نفسية أو عقلية أو اضطراب في سلوكه أو قصور في مستوى قدرته العقلية والأمر الذي يجعله يحتاج إلى رعاية خاصة.
أنواع الإعاقات:
منها ما هو حسي ( الإعاقة البصرية ، والإعاقة السمعية ) أو جسمي ( الإعاقة العصبية والإعاقة العضلية والاضطرابات الصحية المزمنة ) أو تواصلي ( اضطرابات الكلام واللغة ) أو عقلي (التخلف العقلي) .
الإعاقة البصرية:
هي حالة يفقد الفرد فيها المقدرة على استخدام حاسة البصر بفاعلية مما يؤثر سلبًا في أدائه ونموه.
