حياتي» هو سيرة ذاتية للمفكر الإسلامي الفذ أحمد أمين، يسرد فيها بأسلوب شيق ما مر به من تجارب في حياته بدءًا من مرحلة الطفولة والصبا التي قضاها في مدرسة أم عباس الابتدائية النموذجية التي شيدتها إحدى أميرات القصر الملكي، والتي انتقل بعدها إلى الدراسة في الأزهر ومدرسة القضاء، ومرورًا بمرحلة الشباب والرجولة التي تنقّل فيها بين مناصب القضاء والتدريس ثم انتهاءً بوصوله إلى الجامعة التي عُيِّن فيها أستاذًا وعميدًا لكلية الآداب، وقد عاصر أمين خلال تلك الفترة نخبة من عظام المفكرين المصريين أمثال: طه حسين، وأحمد لطفي السيد وغيرهم، ومزية هذا الكتاب أنه لا يطل بنا فقط على الحياة الشخصية للمؤلف، بل يطلعنا أيضًا على الأحوال الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والثقافية والسياسية السائدة في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر، وأوائل القرن العشرين.
