ستانلى لين بول (بالإنجليزية: Stanley Lane-Poole ) (18 ديسمبر1854 - 29 ديسمبر1931) كان مستشرق وعالم آثار بريطاني. عمه كان إدوارد وليام لين.
ولد في لندن, من عام 1874 إلى عام 1892 عمل في المتحف البريطاني, وبعد ذلك اشتغل بالبحث في مصر حول علوم المصريات. من عام 1897 حتى عام 1904 شغل كرسى الأستاذية للدراسات العربية في جامعة دبلن.

أكثر من خمسة قرون مضت منذ ضاع الفردوس، وانتهى الوجودُ العربيُّ في تلك البقاع الإسبانيَّة التي شهدت فتراتٍ من الإشراقِ والتألُّقِ الآخذِ بالألباب، شاغلِ الناس قديمًا وحديثًا. وبقدر ما يتَّفق العالم غربه وشرقه على عظمة الحضارة الأندلسيَّة، وجلالة منجزاتها المعماريَّة والفنيَّة والعلميَّة، بقدر ما يثور الكثير من اللَّغط حول تاريخ الأندلس، فيتناقله عددٌ غير قليل من المؤرِّخين مضطربًا ملتبسًا، ويندر أن نجد تآريخ حياديَّة، تُصوِّر الحقائق كما كانت، دون تفخيم أو تحقير. ومن هنا يُعدُّ وقوع مثل هذا الكتاب بين يدي القارئ ضربًا من ضروب الإمساك بالحقيقة كما بَصُر بها المستشرقُ الإنجليزيُّ المُنصِف «ستانلي لين بول»، والذي أتاح لنا الوقوف على الصورة الكاملة لتلك الحضارة التي سطع نورها قرابة ثمانية قرون من الزمان، وما زالت عجائب أخبارها تتردَّد حتى الآن.
