رأيت نفسي أقف في مكان مرتفع من العراق. كنت أنظر حولي لأتفقد المكان. وأنا أنظر إلى الأسفل، رأيت بعيداً عنّي جموعاً من الناس يبدو عليهم الذعر وهم يتراكضون في اتّجاهاتٍ عدّة وكأنهم يحاولون الهرب من خطرٍ يحدق بهم.
ولكنّ رجلا عجوزا من بينهم اتَّجه نحوي واعتلى المكان وأعطاني كيساً فيه كمية من التراب وقال "هذا تراب العراق، حافظي عليه إذ سيكون إنقاذ العراق على يديك"، ثم اختفى من أمام عيني.
قلت في نفسي: ما الذي أراه؟ اللهم اجعله خيرا...
لم أفهم السبب الذي جعل هؤلاء الناس يركضون مذعورين؟ ما الذي حلّ بهم يا ترى وما هو سبب ذعرهم الكبير؟ من هو ذلك الرجل العجوز الذي أتى ليعطيني هذا الكيس من التراب؟ ماذا كان يقصد بقوله هذا تراب العراق وأن إنقاذ العراق سيكون على يدي؟ وكيف اختفى ذلك الرجل العجوز مباشرةً بعد أن أعطاني الكيس؟
لماذا أصبح هذا المكان من العراق صحراء قاحلة بعد أن كان جنّة غناء كما عرفتُها قبل عشرات السنين.
أسئلة كثيرة دارت في خاطري وأنا أسترجع ببالي مرارا وتكرارا ما رأيته. لم أشعر بالراحة لما رأيت، ولم أكلم أحداً عنه وحاولت جهدي أن أجد تفسيرا معقولا ولكنني مكثت أدور في دوّامة من التساؤلات والأفكار ومشاعر الحزن والقلق.
