بونسون دو ترايل: روائي فرنسي، معروف بكتاباته في أدب المغامرات.
ولد ألكس بونسون دو ترايل عام ١٨٢٩م، بمدينة مونمارتر الفرنسية. عُرف بإنتاجه الأدبي الغزير، فقد أنتج ثلاثة وسبعين مجلدًا خلال عشرين عامًا. تنتمي أعماله الروائية المبكرة إلى الأدب القوطي، وعندما بدأ في كتابة «سلسلة روكامبول» قام بنشرها في جريدة يومية، وهي سلسلة من القصص المنتمي لأدب الغموض والمغامرة، وقد مَثلت هذه السلسلة تحوله من الأدب القوطي إلى الأدب البطولي الحداثي.
وقد توفي بونسون دو ترايل عام ١٨٧١م.

الجزء السابع عشر من سلسلة روايات روكامبول، للمؤلّف بونسون دو ترايل، هو خاتمة روكامبول، وفيه خاتمة لجميع القصص والمغامرات التي مرّ بها روكامبول مع عصابته، وكيف أن روكامبول لم يكن يشعر بالراحة أبداً دون أن يعيد لأصحابِ الحق حقهم، لذلك نال جزاءه العادل، حيث فشل الأسقف "بترس توين" في أن يوقع روكامبول تحت قبضته، بل تم إلقاء القبض على الأسقف نفسه، كما تم إخراج "وليم" من المستشفى، وأعاد له جميع ثروته وأمواله، كما أُطلق سراح "إدوارد" بعد أن عاد إليه عقله، بالإضافة إلى أن المركيز "غاستون دي مورفر" قد عاد إليه عقله أيضاً، الذي أذهبه جمال البستانية الحسناء، وعادت إليه ثروته، وبعد انتهت كل هذه المغامرات أخيراًن حان الوقت ليستريح روكامبول ويَستمتع ويعيش حياته، فتزوّج من الفتاة التي أحبها بصدق وهي "فاندا"، أما مسز "ألن" فقد أوضح لها أن حبه لها هو حب أبَوي، وهكذا انتهت رواية روكامبول بانتصار الخير على الشر، وقد كانت الغلبة والنصرة الأخيرة للخير، ولم يكن روكامبول وعصابته أكثر من أداة، حيث دافعوا عن الخير حتى انتصر.
