بونسون دو ترايل: روائي فرنسي، معروف بكتاباته في أدب المغامرات.
ولد ألكس بونسون دو ترايل عام ١٨٢٩م، بمدينة مونمارتر الفرنسية. عُرف بإنتاجه الأدبي الغزير، فقد أنتج ثلاثة وسبعين مجلدًا خلال عشرين عامًا. تنتمي أعماله الروائية المبكرة إلى الأدب القوطي، وعندما بدأ في كتابة «سلسلة روكامبول» قام بنشرها في جريدة يومية، وهي سلسلة من القصص المنتمي لأدب الغموض والمغامرة، وقد مَثلت هذه السلسلة تحوله من الأدب القوطي إلى الأدب البطولي الحداثي.
وقد توفي بونسون دو ترايل عام ١٨٧١م.

شعرت مسز «ألن» بأن كل ما بها من حقد على «روكامبول» هو حبٌّ دفين في حقيقة الأمر؛ فسارعت تُصلح غلطتها. تركت إنجلترا متجهةً إلى باريس؛ محاولةً البحث عن أصدقاء «روكامبول»؛ لعلهم يخرجونه من سجنه الذي كانت هي السبب فيه. غير أن والدها اكتشف أمرها؛ ومنعها من إتمام مرادها، وأرسل وراءها من يحبسها في باريس. في هذه الأثناء ظهر على مسرح الأحداث «ليمسون»؛ الذي شغف قلبه هو أيضًا بحب «ألن»، ولكنه أدرك أن حبه يعني أن تعشق دودة الأرض نجمة السماء، فلا سبيل لوصلها. ولكنه أصرَّ على مساعدتها، وعلى الرغم من كل الصعاب التي واجهها، إلا أنه كان سعيدًا بذلك من أجلها، وساعدها على الوصول إلى معاوني «روكامبول» لكي يساعدوه في الهروب من سجنه.
