قطعت زوجته هيلدا هذه المأساة الجائلة في خاطره، بعد أن دخلت الكوخ لتخبره بأنها سوف تذهب بعد ساعات في رحلة تجارية إلى احد الجزر الغربية؛ لتحاول بيع الأسماك المتبقية بعد ركود حركة البيع في بوتانا منذ فترة.
