قصيدة البحار العجوز" للكاتب الإنجليزي صاموئيل تايلور كولديرج (1834- 1772) الذي يعد واحداً من كبار شعراء الحركة الروما نطيقية في إنجلترا. نقلها إلى العربية مع ترجمة موازية للنص الإنجليزي الدكتور "محمد الخزاعي" من البحرين. تعتبر قصيدة البحار العجوز من قبل الكثير من دارسي الأدب والنقاد أنها المثال الكلاسيكي على الشعر الرومانسي الإنجليزي. فهي تغوص في أعماق البحار العجوز أثناء تجواله وتلامس ذاته عن قرب، لتكشف للقارئ إحساسه العميق بالإكتئاب والعزلة. يتضمن الكتاب ترجمة أمينة لسبعة أجزاء من القصيدة مع نبذة عن سيرة الشاعر صاموئيل تايلور كولديدج كما وردت في النسخة الأصلية من دائرة معارف البيوغرافيا العالمية. ومن الجزء الأول نقرأ: "إنه لبحار عجوز،/ يستوقف واحداً من ثلاثة/ بحق لحيتك الطويلة المشتعلة شيباً وعينك المتألقة بريقاً/ لماذا استوقفنتني الآن؟ إن أبواب العريس مشرعة على مصراعيها، وأنا أقرب الناس إليه،/ فالضيوف تم استقبالهم والوليمة تم إعدادها،/ لعلك تسمع الضجيج المرح/ يمسكه بيده الناحلة؛/ قائلاً له: "كانت هناك سفينة"/ دعني، ولا تمسكني، ايها الشيخ الأخرق/ وبسرعة بسحب يده (...)".
