فى إطار تصحيح المفاهيم الخاطئة يتناول كتاب هذا العمل الفارق بين مايقنع به المسلم وماينفذه، وهذا الفارق يرجع إلى المفاهيم الذاتية الخاصة بكل إنسان والتى تشكل كثير منها بصورة غير صحيحة من خلال بيئته المحيطة، فتكون المحصلة سلوكيات ناتجة عن أقوال من قبيل "اضرب من ضربك، النفاق معيار النجاح، من لا يظلم الناس يظلم، من لا يخطئ فى شبابه فسيخطئ فى كبره، وغيرها الكثير" وحتى نتمكن من التغلب على تلك المفاهيم وماتشكله من معوقات، علينا الإيمان بمفهوم "التخلية قبل التحلية" أى التخلى عن الخطأ قولآ وفعلآ ثم التمسك بالصحيح، إن هذا كتاب "خدعوك فقالوا" تكمن فى إشارته إلى كل خطا قد نقع فيه ثم توضيحه الصحيح مما قاله رب العزة وما قاله او فعله رسول الإنسانية النبى الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم.
