هذا الكتاب محاولة لربط النحو بالشعر , وتوظيف النحو في فهم الشعر وتحليله واستيعابه ومعرفة أبعاده ومراميه من خلال بنيته اللغوية , وتفسير النص وبيان قيمته من خلال العَلاقات النحوية , وأودّ أن أشير إلى أنّ هذا الكتاب ؛ كان في أصله جملة من أبحاث , نشرت في مجلات علمية محكمة بدا لي أن أجمعها في كتاب , نزولا على رغبة كثير من الأصدقاء والزملاء المخلصين وطلاب العلم , وسيجد القارئ العزيز أنني تناولت قصائد لشعراء من أزمنة مختلفة في العصر الجاهلي والأموي والعباسي , حاولت أن أبرز فيها دور العلاقات النحوية في فهم النص وتفسيره وبيان تماسكه , اقتداء بسالف نحاتنا كابن جني والزمخشري وابن هشام وغيرهم , الذين كان لهم ارتباط بالنصوص العربية الفصيحة يحللونها , ويظهرون فيها دور العَلاقات النحْوية في بنائها وسوس نسيجها , ومحاولة ترسم خطى هؤلاء الأفذاذ واقتفاء أثرهم , وتتبعهم , والسير على منوالهم هو الذي يعيد إلى النحو العربي وجهه المشرق . كما أودّ أن أشير إلى أنه لم يكن من وُكْد هذا الكتاب تتبع حياة هؤلاء الشعراء بالدراسة , وإنما كان الهدف هو تحليل قصائد لهم تحليلًا نصيًّا , يكشف عن دور النحو في فهم الشعر . لقد كانت هذه الدراسة محاولة للاقتراب من النصّ الشعريّ وبيان دور النحو في تفسير هذا النصّ من خلال العلاقات النحوية , وهي تُعَدّ تطبيقًا لاتجاه آخذٍ في الانتشار والتقدّم , وهو اتجاه نحو النصّ الذي يتجه إليه البحث النحويّ في الآونة الأخيرة , وأحسب أنه آخذ في التقدم والازدهار.
