يُحاول هذا الكتاب أن يُجيبَ على سُؤَال «الاختلاف الفلسفي » الذي بات يشغل الساحة الفلسفيّة للفكر العربي المُعاصر في جُلّ أرجاء الوطن العربي الكبير، فسؤال الاختلاف بصيغه المختلفة: كيف نختلف فكريًا وفلسفيًا؟ وعن مَنْ نختلف؟ ولماذا نختلف؟ وإلى أي مدى يمكننا أن نختلف؟ وهل الاختلاف طبيعة ربانيّة وسنة كونيّة أم هو من صُنع الإنسان المُتمرد؟ وكيف نختلف ولا يُفسد الاختلاف للودّ قضيّة؟ وكيف يكون الاختلاف دعوةً إلى التنوع والثراء ودَفعةً حقيقية إلى الأمام؟ وكيف يكون الاختلاف لتحقيق الاستقلال الفكري والاستئناف الفلسفي العربي؟ فلا نظل مُنقادين تحت أَسرِ الفلسفة الغربية التي أَسرَتنا فظللنا ندور في فلكها ما يزيد على قرنين من الزمان وما استطعنا الفكاك، وكيف يكون الاختلافُ الفلسفيّ سبيلنا لنضع أقدامنا على دربِ التقدم واستعادة مكانتنا الحضاريّة بدلاً من الاستمرار في التغني بأمجاد الماضي؟.
