جبور الدويهي، من مواليد زغرتا، شمال لبنان، 1949.
حصّل دروسه الابتدائية والثانوية في مدينة طرابلس.
حائز على إجازة في الأدب الفرنسي من كلية التربية في بيروت وعلى دكتوراه في الأدب المقارن من جامعة باريس الثالثة (السوربون الجديدة).
استاذ الأدب الفرنسي في الجامعة اللبنانية.
كاتب افتتاحيات وناقد أدبي في مجلة L’Orient Express ومن بعدها في ملحق L’Orient litteraire الصادرَين في بيروت.
قام بترجمة عدة مؤلفات أدبية وعامة من الفرنسية إلى العربية.
مؤلفاته الروائية: - الموت بين الأهل نعاس، مجموعة قصص قصيرة، دار المطبوعات الشرقية، بيروت، 1990 - اعتدال الخريف، رواية، دار النهار، بيروت، 1995.
(حازت على جائزة أفضل عمل مترجم من جامعة أركنساس في الولايات المتحدة).
ترجمت إلى الفرنسية والانكليزية.
- ريّا النهر، رواية، دار النهار، 1998.
- عين ورده، رواية، دار النهار، 2002.
ترجمت إلى الفرنسية وستنقل قريباً إلى التركية.
- مطر حزيران، دار النهار، 2006.
اختيرت ضمن اللائحة القصيرة لجائزة [["بوكر"]] للرواية العربية في عامها الأول.
ترجمت إلى الفرنسية والإيطالية وستنقل قريباً إلى الألمانية ومن بعدها إلى الإنكليزية.
- "روح الغابة"، قصة للصغار بالفرنسية، دار حاتم، 2001 (حازت على جائزة سان اكزوبيري الفرنسية لأدب الشباب).
- يصدر له في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2010 المقبل عن دار النهار في بيروت رواية جديدة بعنوان: شريد المنازل .

"في ظروف غامضة، يُعثر على زكريا مبارك مقتولاً عند حدود قريته، تل صفرا، بعد أيام على عودته من غربة طويلة بين أوروبا وأميركا وأفريقيا. لقد اختار العودة محتفظاً بلوحة ""عازف الكمان الأزرق"" لمارك شاغال، التي أهدتها له صديقته الباريسية.
تدور الشبهات حول أبناء العمومة الذين ربّما قتلوه طمعاً في كنز توارثت العائلة أنّ الجدّة قد أخفته تحت المنزل الذي شيّدته لدى عودتها من أميركا.
بأسلوب مشوّق تحكي الرواية قصّة مقتل زكريا عند تقاطع خطر اختلطت فيه خرافات الذهب وحروب الأشقاء مع حبّ النساء الفرنسيات ووعد الثروة الزائف وعداوات طائفية تظهر وتختفي منذ قرن ونصف."
