صحيح أن "الرهيبة"،كما كان يدعوها درويش، لم تعِده بأي نشرٍ لاحق، لكنّه كان متأكداً بأنها ستفعل، خصوصاً بعد أن كرّر لها ذلك، صراحة، وللمرّة الثانية، حين خابرها، من الأردن، في ربيع 2008، متمنّياً عليها:
"أعلني عن الأوراق، بعد 5 سنين على الأقل، وأنشريها لتكن هديتي ومفاجأتي، على يدكِ… أنا الموقّع أدناه محمود درويش".
في ميلاد العام 1991، جمعها لقاء صحفي بالشاعر محمود درويش، دوّنه لها بخطّ يده، ليحمل في طيّاته بذور صداقة ستستمرّ حتى أيام الشاعر الأخيرة وتوصياته لها أواخر شتاء 2007:
"لقد تركتُ لديكِ أوراقاً أحببتُها فعلاً وأنا أكتبها… تعرفين أنني خصّصتُ لها أكثر من أمسية لإنجازها، فهل تقدّرين جهودي وتحتفظين بها لقرّائي، في مكان آمن؟".
