لقد وجِد هذا الرجل المطلوب في شخصية مولانا "جلال الدين الرومي". وقد كان ديوان شعره، الذي يعرف عادة بـ"المثنوي المعنوي"؛ ثورة على علم الكلام الذي فقد جِدَّته وقوَّته، ونقد للفلسفة في اتجاهها ومنهجها، وعلى الفلسفة التي تجاوزت حدودها، وبالغت في تقدير الحواس وتقديس العقل؛ وكان أساسًا لكلام جديد أكثر إقناعًا للعقول الجامحة الثائِرة والنفوس المضطربة الحائرة من علم الكلام، الذي تزعَّم ذلك وتكفَّل به طوال القرون.
