اللحظات الأكثر حميمية لي كقميص كانت تأتي عبر سلة الغسيل، نعم هو ما قرأته بالحرف، قد تخالفني الرأي وتعتبر حبل الغسيل الأفضل والأكثر حرية، كما هو مشاع، بالمناسبة أتمنى أن تقضي حياتك بعيدًا عن التورط مع منشر غسيل داخلي كل ما يجلبه صداع مزمن، ورفقة مزعجة لأجهزة تعمل بصخب.
لن نختلف، لكن لدي أسبابي الوجيهة، كما أعتقد، خذ مثلًا، سلة الغسيل هي المكان الوحيد الذي يمكنك أن تجتمع فيه مع شتى الطبقات والأعراق دون أي تفريق عنصري، أعرف هذا كوني أبيض وأتعرض في كل عملية غسيل إلى عملية فصل حازمة لا يقبل فيها لأي ملوّن الدخول إلى معسكرنا. هذا الإجراء متبع في مرحلة النشر كذلك.
أيضًا في سلة الغسيل أنت على موعد مع احتفال صاخب بعد أن تكون قد قضيت وقتًا رتيبًا طوال اليوم.
ربما قد تكون قذر بشكل مزري لكن لا يهم طالما أن الجميع كذلك، ثم أنك تكون حقيقي جدًا في تلك اللحظة.
في سلة الغسيل تعرفت إلى أكثر أصدقائي وفاءً، بنطال كحلي مقلم كان يعاني عقدة نقص كونه طراز منقرض يصارع كي يظل على رأس العمل، لكنه كان يملك أنصع قلب على الإطلاق.
قميص كاروهات يتمتع بحكمة هائلة ويبدو بمثابة الأب الروحي للجميع، جاكيت جينز يحظى بشعبية هائلة كونه قادر على أن يجعلنا نكركر في أشد أوقاتنا حلكة.
وبالطبع لا أنسى سيدة الحضور الأنثوي، البلوزة الوردية التي كانت تأتي دائمًا مجللة بعطر باذخ كافي لأن يثير مخيلة أكثرنا بلادة.
بالرغم من ذلك كان طابع البراءة يطغى على محافلنا بتأثير من ملائكية بيجامات لطفل رضيع، ربما هو الآن في طور الدخول للمدرسة.
أجزم أنك الآن بصدد تغيير رأيك، بعد أن أثرت حفيظتك.
ولكن، بقي أن أخبرك شيئًا.
أنا الآن مجرد خرقة ممزقة تقطن الدرج الأخير من مطبخ، برفقة قطع أخرى جار عليها الزمن.
فانيلة علّاقي، قطعة من شرشف، منشفة قديمة، نزاول مهن محرجة، قد لا تخطر لك على بال.
ومع ذلك أنا مستعد تمامًا لأن أبصم لك كل صباح بأن الحياة حلوة.
وجديرة بأن تُعاش .
