أن تكون عالِماً نفسيا، فهذا إشارة إلى تفهمك واستيعابك لطبائع البشر. أما أن تسعى (باعتبار أنك عالما نفسيا) إلى تأسيس رؤية أعمق وأوسع لفهم الطبيعة البشرية : فهذا ملمح بارز إلى تمكّنك النفسي من إدارة عالية وأنيقة لعلاقاتك الإجتماعية. هل كان فرويد الذي يمثل الحالة الثانية هكذا ؟ نوعا ما لا !
فالمثير في أحداث أحياته هو خلافاته المتكررة مع أبرز أصدقائه ومعاونيه !
وقد كان هو سبّاقا للكشف عن عُصاب التكرار، كنمط يسم القدر الشخصي عند البعض : أي نزوعهم المستمر لتكرار بعض المواقف أو الأحداث ـ بالرغم من رغبتهم لتجنب ذلك. يندرج فيه كذلك ما نشير له بمفاهيمنا الشعبية بالحظ السيء أو النحس.
إن بعض الشخصيات الفكرية التي عايشت فرويد، كان بالإمكان لو كان فرويد عالما نفسيا واسع الأفق بحق وناضج الميول، لزاد تأثيره أضعافا ولمس الاحترام الواسع الذي كان يرجوه، بناءً على تبنّي رؤى مساعديه العميقة والمستلهَمة منه، نحو طبيعة الإنسان. غير أن تعقيده النفسي صوّر له المعطيات بشكل مشوَّه يمس شخصيته، وتطاولا في نطاقه يثير حساسيته. ودون هذا التحسّس، لكان مسار النظرية ليأخذ طريقا أوسعا وأذكى، دون إضاعة الطاقة في الخلافات.
