عندما خضت تجربة تدريس مادة النحو لغير المتخصصات في جامعة الأميرة نورة، وجدت الطالبات يتشوَّشن لحظة وصول الدرس إلى جزئية الآراء المتعددة والتفريعات التفصيلية وذكر المسائل الخلافية، فيضيع بذلك الغرض الأساس من تدريس مادة النحو لغير المتخصصين.
ومن مطالعاتي لكتب النحو وجهه انتباهي إليه كتابُ ملحة الإعراب للحريري صاحب المقامات لعدة أمور، أولها أنه كتاب من التراث وثانيها أنه منظومة وثالثها أنه يحوي جميع أبواب النحو مقتصرا على القاعدة الأولية لكل باب، فالأمران الأولان يتسقان مع نوعية مقرر مادة النحو للجامعات، والثالث وهو الأهم إيجازه المفيد لغير المتخصص، فقمت بشرحه شرحا مستوفيا غير متشعب، فلم أترك الأصول وفروعها ولم أزد تشعباتٍ على الفروع، وهذا ينسجم مع مراد الناظم الذي أراده للمتعلمين وللراغبين في تحصيل المعرفة اللغوية.
فـ(شرح ملحة الإعراب) كتاب يصلح لطلبة الجامعة وغيرهم، لأنه لا يطفو على أصول النحو، ولا يغرق في تشعباته.
